Based in London, United Kingdom, Dr Hakim is a Consultant Rheumatologist and Associate Professor in Medicine offering a comprehensive service managing rheumatic conditions in those aged 18 years and above. In addition, he has until recently been a Board member in Clinical Commissioning, and a Trustee to the UK charity The Hypermobility Syndromes Association (HMSA). In September ’18 Dr Hakim was appointed Adjunct Associate Professor in Medicine, Pennsylvania State University, USA. In August ’19 he was appointed Chief Medical Officer to the international charity The Ehlers-Danlos Society.

From Oct ’12 to Dec ’17 Dr Hakim was a Board member to the CWHHE Clinical Commissioning Group Collaborative in Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow, & Ealing.

Co-author of 5 medical books, chapters in major Rheumatology textbooks, and with over 100 publications, including original papers & reviews, Dr Hakim publishes & teaches widely in his field, and in September 2018 was honoured to be appointed Adjunct Associate Professor in Medicine, Pennsylvania State University, USA.
Charities & Clinical Leadership.
Dr Hakim was Trustee & Chief Medical Advisor to The Hypermobility Syndromes Association (HMSA) between 2012 and 2018; and is now a member of the Medical & Scientific Board, The Ehlers-Danlos Society, and their Director of Education, and Chief Medical Officer. He was from inception through to 2019 the Chair, and a faculty teacher with Pfizer iQ Leaders.
