The international charity, The Ehlers-Danlos Society was launched in May 2016. Dr Hakim is a member of the Medical and Scientific Board, and the international consortium that supports the charity.

For the last 4 years Dr Hakim has also co-produced, chaired, and is a faculty teacher on the Pfizer iQ Leaders and Leaders Advance Programmes. The courses run approximately twice a year for clinicians and therapists in leadership roles in Musculoskeletal Medicine. The programme is always very well received but in November 2016 achieved an unprecedented 100% for ‘Excellence’ and “Recommendation to a Colleague” in its delegate feedback.
Dr Hakim was from Oct ’12 to Dec ’17 a Board member to each of the 5 CCGs that constitute CWHHE Clinical Commissioning Group Collaborative in the boroughs of Westminster (Central London CCG), Kensington & Chelsea (West London CCG), Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow, and Ealing. He has been Chair of the System Resilience Groups for inner North West London, Vice Chair of their collaborative Quality and Performance committee, and is a member of their Investment, Remuneration, Co-commissioning, and Audit committees.
